The shadow
What you reject does not disappear.
It goes underground. It appears in projection, relationships, sex, leadership, conflict, envy, anger, control, shame and the need for validation.
A person can build a beautiful conscious identity while being quietly driven by everything they refuse to admit is also inside them.
ROOT & CROWN uses Jungian-inspired shadow work as one lens. Not because the shadow is evil. Because what remains unconscious can still control behavior.
The persona
Successful. Strong. Helpful. Needed. Perfect. High-performing.
The persona is not necessarily false. It becomes dangerous when you forget it is only part of you.
The wounded boy / the strong man
The wounded boy does not need to disappear.
He needs to stop running the man.
The strong man is not a man without wounds. He can feel them without handing them control.
Strength means self-command, truth, responsibility, boundaries, discipline, emotional regulation, courage and love. The ability to act according to values instead of fear.
